The B-25 Mitchell medium bomber was a workhorse aircraft for the US Army Air Force and was deployed in every theater of operation in World War II. It performed a remarkable number of roles, from straight bomber, low-level ground attack, search-and-rescue and anti-shipping missions. This version short-nosed H-model, might have been the most heavily-armed aircraft to take to the skies during the war;armed with no less than fourteen .50 inch machine guns, and a 75mm cannon the firepower that mind blowing.
This aircraft is in the markings of the World War II era 345th Bombardment Group that operated in the Southwest Pacific Theater as a medium bomber unit assigned to Fifth Air Force. The 345th was awarded both the Distinguished Unit Citation and the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation for its combat service in New Guinea; the Bismarck Archipelago, Leyte; Luzon; the Southern Philippines and China.
