Since this is an American built jet, I am including it here, even though it is in South African Air Force markings No. 2 Sqaudron. This was a prepainted model that I added some detail to.
The F-86 Sabre (Sabrejet) was a transonic jet fighter aircraft, produced by North American Aviation. The most produced version of the Sabre was the F-86F. It was used as both a fighter and bomber in Korea. A total of 2,540 F-86Fs were built before production ceased 1955.
F-86Fs equipped U.S. Air Force Squadrons of both the Air Defense Command (ADC) and Tactical Air Command (TAC). As the F-86F was phased out of U.S. active duty squadrons, some went to the Air National Guard and others were sold/sent to other countries. The F-86F fought several wars with other nation's Air Forces; flying against opposing aircraft such as the MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-19 and MiG-21.
