The Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler is an electronic warfare aircraft derived from the A-6 Intruder airframe. Development on the EA-6B began in in 1966, it was introduced into service in 1971 and deployed to Southeast Asia in 1972. The EA-6B aircrew consists of one pilot and three Electronic Countermeasures Officers (ECMO), though it is not uncommon for only 2 ECMOs to be used on missions.
This is a EA-6B Prowler serving with VAQ-130 aboard USS Nimitz CVN-68 in 1975.
This is a very old model. The decals have started to yellow. The nice thing about decals is that they can be soaked off without damaging the paint and new ones applied. I will have to start looking for some replacements. This airframe could stand a little repair & replacement.
