This is an original AMT customizing kit from the early 1960s. No I didn't open an expensive original collector kit. I bought this in a collection of built kits and rebuilt it. It had never been painted, was a total glue bomb and even had the chrome side exhaust pipes glued to the top of the doors. I took it apart, puttied, sanded, repeated and painted it Bahama Sea and white. It is a mild custom. I really like it because I believe it looks old school, like something you would have seen at a local car show in the 1960-1970s.
The air filter decal was copied from online, reduced in size, printed on paper, covered in Scotch tape for a shine and protection, cut out and pasted on the air cleaner.
